Weekend Workouts

Hope you all had a great weekend! The highlight of my weekend was the hiking trip we did on Saturday with some friends to St. Mary’s Glacier in Idaho Springs about an hour west of Denver. The hiking trail to the lake and glacier is 3/4 mile at about 10,000 feet and not too strenuous so it was good for novices like us. I was surprised at how much snow was still up there. The lake was still frozen over and we were able to see some mini avalanches coming down off the glacier ridge. We had a great time just hanging out and watching for some more snow slides. The sun was out and it was pretty warm besides the major wind gusts that would roll through. Things were starting to melt pretty fast once we got to the top so on the way down it was nice and slushy….made it easy to just slide down wish we had a sled! Anyways I am going to share a lot of the photos we took to tell the story. It was beautiful!

It was a great workout….I forgot to wear my heart rate monitor so I didn’t get to track my calories womp womp. After the hike we stopped in downtown Idaho Springs for some yummy Beau Jo’s mountain pies! They even have a dairy free mozzarella cheese so we were able to create our own vegan pizza. After lunch, we then walked the downtown area and went into all the little shops to look around. We had a fun time!

On Sunday we did 5 hours of yard work so I got another good workout in. We did a bunch of raking and weeding and we got some flowers and plants to spruce up the yard. I did track my calories for fun even though this only captured about 4 hours so I probably hit around 1,000 calories burned….go yard work!
